- Two different beaches, one name
- Out of season this is a walk-and-photograph beach: the white sand and turquoise water that put it on screen are there in January. In season it becomes a managed swimming beach with a defined opening period — 24 June to 6 September in 2026 — and supervised hours of 10:00–19:00. Swimming outside those dates is not supervised.
- Parking is free, which is unusual on this coast
- There is a free public car park at the beach. Given how tight parking gets at Jeju's east-coast spots in summer, this is worth knowing before you pay for something nearer.
- Showers cost money
- The shower facilities are paid and seasonal. Korean visitors doing the east-coast beaches often plan to rinse off back at their accommodation rather than pay per use.
- It is a surf beach as much as a drama one
- Woljeongri is one of Jeju's established surf spots, with board rental and lessons in season. The café strip behind the sand exists because of the surfers as much as the tourists.

Visiting tips
Woljeongri’s signature is the row of beachfront cafés facing straight onto the water — the colored chairs on the sand are the island’s most Instagrammed seats. Any window table recreates the drama’s aquamarine frame; mornings get the best water color, afternoons the best light on the sand.
The beach anchors Jeju’s northeast café coast: you can walk or cycle the coastal road toward Gimnyeong (a When Life Gives You Tangerines beach) in about 30 minutes, chaining two dramas’ shorelines in one stroll.
What’s nearby
Manjanggul lava tube (UNESCO) is 15 minutes inland, and the Gimnyeong haenyeo village program runs just up the coast — both natural add-ons before continuing to the Seongsan area, where the east-Jeju drama cluster (Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seopjikoji, the five-day market) begins.
