Two names, one drama

If you’re searching for this show you’ll hit two titles, and it’s worth clearing up before you plan a trip.

In Korea it aired as 김부장 (Kim Bu-jang) — “Manager Kim” — on SBS, Friday–Saturday, from 26 June 2026. Netflix carries it internationally as Agent Kim Reactivated, a name that circulated as a working title during production and stuck for the global release. Both point to the same ten episodes, adapted from Jung Jong-taek’s Naver webtoon of the same name and directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-woon.

It landed hard: past 20% by episode four, a series high of 23.1% in episode eight, and a 23% average at the finale on Nielsen Korea’s nationwide household figures. It also reached #1 on Netflix Japan, which is why the Icheon bank has been getting Japanese visitors all summer.

Geoje is the part most guides miss

The stretch that fans most want to stand in — the episodes 4 to 6 action — was shot on Geoje Island, and this is unusually well documented because Geoje City published an official press release naming the sites. The production was supported by the city’s location incentive programme, so these aren’t fan guesses.

Four Geoje locations were named. Only two of them are places you should go:

• Geunpo village tunnels — free, open, with a car park. This is the one worth the trip.
• Hotel Riviera Geoje — a working hotel; book a room or use the spa.
• The former Suwol army base (now the old Geoje reserve-forces training ground) — a military facility. Not open to visitors. Please don’t try.
• Sonanggu Pension — private accommodation, not a walk-in site.

The tunnels are the real find. They were cut by the Japanese military from 1941 as gun emplacements, abandoned when liberation came in 1945, and sat as village infrastructure for eighty years. The twin shafts connect internally in an H shape, so light enters from both ends and silhouettes anyone standing in the middle — which made the spot an Instagram destination long before a camera crew arrived. Expect to wait your turn for the shot on a weekend.

Getting the tunnel shot

This is the part Korean visitors write about and English guides don’t, so it’s worth spelling out.

The tunnels sit at the waterline and open straight onto the sea, which means you are always shooting into the light. Meter for the bright sky at the mouth rather than the person, and whoever is standing in the tunnel turns into a clean black silhouette against the water. Drop the camera low enough to catch a strip of the floor; if it has rained, the standing water inside doubles the frame.

The trap is that a silhouette flattens everything. Small gestures vanish — finger hearts, peace signs, anything done with the fingers simply isn’t there in the photo. What reads is shape: arms overhead, a jump, two people turned to face each other.

Come in trainers. The floors are the original 1941 cut, uneven and unlit, and there is no handrail. And at weekends expect a queue — there’s a sign asking each group to keep it to roughly three minutes, which is generous until you’re the one deciding what to do with your arms.

The practical mistake people make is the drive. You cannot get a car to the tunnels. Navigation will take you down to Geunpo harbour, where the village lane is signed as no-entry; park at the village hall and walk the last five to seven minutes along the shore. Bring the walk into your timing if you’re chasing sunset.

Suggested route

These sites don’t sit on one line, so treat them as three separate trips.

Geoje is a proper journey from Seoul — roughly four to five hours by bus, or KTX to Busan and across. Give it an overnight and combine the tunnels with the island’s coastline; it’s the only stop here that stands on its own as a destination.

Icheon is the easy day trip: the bank is the anchor, and Icheon is Korea’s ceramics town, so the pottery village fills the rest of the day.

What we’ve left off, and why

Some sites logged by fan researchers from the ending credits are closed facilities with no public access, including the shuttered Yangyang campus used for one of the larger set-pieces. Those stay off the visitable list.

We also revised this page substantially in August 2026 after checking every entry against Korean sources: the Geoje locations were added, and the Icheon, Incheon and Gangnam addresses were corrected from neighbourhood names to full street addresses — the earlier versions weren’t precise enough to actually navigate to.
